6 easy meals you can make on repeat

Uni kitchens aren't always the easiest to work with, but with the right recipes and trusty kitchen appliances, you can whip up something tasty in minutes. We’ve pulled together six easy recipes that’ll work with a microwave, air fryer or even just a chopping board and some fridge space.

1. Air Fryer Halloumi Wraps from BBC Food

Just slice halloumi, throw it in the air fryer, and shove it in a wrap with some salad and sweet chilli sauce. It’s fresh, filling, and takes less time than choosing a takeaway.

Works like a charm in the SIA 5.5L Air Fryer. Throw everything in after chopping and you’ll be eating in under 10 minutes.

2. Microwave Mac & Cheese in a Mug

Macaroni and cheese from a mug? Sounds strange, tastes incredible. This mug version is perfect for post-night out cravings, tight budgets, or any time you can’t be bothered to boil water properly.

The SIA 20L White Microwave or SIA 20L Black Retro Microwave are more than up to the task. Plus, they’re way easier than your UCAS application was.

3. Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas

Sliced chicken breast, peppers, onions, a shake of seasoning, and you’ve got fajitas. Skip the pan - chuck it all in the air fryer for a quick dinner that feels fancier than it is.

The SIA 5.5L Air Fryer keeps mess to a minimum. Simply pop the basket in the dishwasher for maximum flavour with minimal washing up.

4. No-Cook Overnight Oats

Healthy, filling and ready when you wake up (even if it’s 2pm). Just mix oats, milk, yoghurt and toppings in a jar, leave in the fridge overnight and enjoy.

The flavour combinations are endless, but your communal fridge space isn’t. A stylish mini fridge keeps your jars and Tupperware safe.

5. Microwave Vegetarian Chilli

Hearty, healthy and microwaveable. This veggie chilli is loaded with beans, tomatoes and spice. Perfect for batch-cooking on a Sunday or reheating after lectures.

Pair it with rice or a jacket potato for a meal that doesn’t taste like student food. The Daewoo 20L microwave oven makes this one simple. Plus, leftovers keep well in the fridge or freezer.

6. Tortilla Pizza

Tortilla, tomato purée, cheese, and whatever toppings are left in the fridge. Cook it in the microwave or crisp it up in the air fryer. It’s fast, customisable, and way cheaper than Dominos.

Pop it in the microwave for gooey cheese or crisp it up in the air fryer if you want crunch. Bonus points for using up leftovers from your mini fridge.
